Waypoints for Change: Bridging the AI and Crypto Divide in Rural America
Liquidstar builds containerized micro data centers (Waypoints) housed in 20-foot shipping containers that come with their own electricity, water, and internet, and can be deployed in under an hour. They operate on solar, natural gas, and farm-produced biogas, while also connecting to the grid when needed. Water is generated through atmospheric water generation (water from the humidity in the air) for both cooling and local use, and internet connectivity is provided via Starlink.
These “Waypoints” generate revenue by (1) leasing GPUs for AI training, inference, and model fine-tuning; (2) selling surplus electricity, water, and internet to nearby farms and communities; and (3) using remaining energy for bitcoin mining. In rural and agricultural areas, they can locally host AI models for precision farming, improving yields with low-latency access. Each Waypoint can also be tokenized on blockchain, enabling transparent revenue distribution and access to modern decentralized finance tools.
Liquidstar has already deployed this technology with the U.S. Government in Djibouti and is now bringing it back home to help bridge the digital, AI, and crypto divide between urban and rural America.
